IGN has teamed up with Microsoft to deliver a sort of special fall edition of the ID@Xbox Showcase. What did they announce during the livestream, you may ask? Well, let me tell you!
Agni: Village of Calamity
The first announcement of the showcase was Agni: Village of Calamity. An eerie, mind-melting-looking horror game by Separuh Interactive. For me, the style instantly reminded me of games like Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and even a little bit of Death Stranding. Clearly inspired by the classics of the genre, Agni looks to be a neat and intriguing title to keep an eye on.
Darkwood 2
A sequel to the critically acclaimed survival horror game, Darkwood 2 is developed by Ice-Pick Lodge in association with Acid Wizard Studio. If you're into top-down horror and creepy visuals, then this game looks right up your alley.
Don't! Fret
Now this is one I'm incredibly excited about. An extremely stylized first-person horror title themed around music, Don't! Fret looks like a fun, fresh take on the genre that I can't wait to play. With a stellar cast, an interesting art style, and what looks like puzzles galore, this one is one to add to your wishlist.
Puppergeist
Honestly, one of the cutest announcements of the whole showcase. A stylish rhythm/visual novel game where you play as a witch named Claire on the search for her missing pup. As someone with a strange addiction to rhythm games, I personally can't wait to try it out. It's about musical ghost dogs... what's not to love?!
33 Immortals: The Pride and Temperance Update
33 Immortals is getting an update called The Pride and Temperance, focused on bringing new weapons, ordeals, and new chamber objectives. Some of the new weapons added are the Crossbows of Pride and the Glaive of Temperance. Perhaps the most surprising news, however, was that the update releases today!
Awaysis
Awaysis looks to be a fun time with its physics-based combat and 1-4 player co-op campaign. An adorable visual style and whimsical-looking story really make Awaysis look like a fun game to sit around and play with friends, especially since it includes local and online PvP.
Ungodly
From the creator of Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes comes a dark fantasy action RPG with brutal gameplay where you can play as over 20 different primals.
Planet of Lana 2
As someone who has not yet finished the first Planet of Lana (really need to get to that), I must say that I'm extremely excited for the sequel. While keeping some of the features of the previous game, they have expanded the gameplay in various ways for the next game. New biomes, such as snowy mountains, mines, or even urban environments, are sure to make the game feel unique and build upon the first.
One new addition is being able to swim freely in the water, which is a nice change from the original. If you want to check out more about the gameplay and details, be sure to check out the developer deep dive above.
Aphelion
A game by DON'T NOD, Aphelion is shaping up to be an incredibly promising title. You play as Ariane and possibly Thomas, who are astronauts stranded on a frozen planet and must try to survive. I remember being interested when the game was first announced in June, but after seeing more gameplay and glimpses of the story, I think I can officially say I'm hyped for this one.
Indie Selects
Showcasing a wide range of indie titles such as Ultros, The Plucky Squire, Fear the Spotlight, and many more gems from around the world, Indie Selects will help people find fresh indie titles every Wednesday.
Vampire Survivors Official Ante Chamber & 1.14 Update
For fans of Vampire Survivors and Balatro, there will be a new Balatro-centered collab with Ante Chamber.
DayZ: Badlands
The upcoming desert-themed DLC for DayZ will be the largest map for the official DayZ. Featuring unique gear, items, region-specific wildlife, and infected variants, DayZ Badlands is looking to be a sizable addition to the original game.
Superball
Superball is a 3v3 multiplayer action game that looks reminiscent of Rocket League, but in a cyberpunk setting. You'll be able to pick heroes with unique abilities and either go for a goal or defend against the other team. If you've played any games in this style, then you know what you're in for.
Invincible VS Official Robot & Monster Girl Reveal
Showcasing two characters that are going to appear in the upcoming Invincible VS, Monster Girl and Robot look like cool additions to the roster. Coming in 2026, Invincible VS is looking like a solid fighting game that many fans should keep their eyes on.
If you're interested in trying out the game, you can register for their upcoming closed alpha that runs from Friday, Nov 21, to Monday, Nov 24. You can register at closedalpha.invinciblevs.com for a chance to try it out.
Sledding Game
Sledding Game is a simple game about sledding with your friends... yep, that's what it is. Which is perfect. Though there is more to it than just sledding, you can roast marshmallows, build snowmen, and rest on a bench. What else could you possibly need?
Raw Fury Sizzle Reel
Next was a quick sizzle reel of three games, Monsters Are Coming: Rock & Road, Routine, and Dome Keeper, all being published by Raw Fury.
The first, Monsters are Coming: Rock & Road, is a rogue-lite where you gather resources while you protect a moving city. The second, Dome Keeper, is a roguelike action mining game where you dig for resources and upgrade so that you can survive. The last of the group was Routine, a first-person sci-fi horror game that's a cool-looking 80s-inspired journey on an abandoned lunar base.
Egging On
A fun and ridiculous-looking title where you play as an egg trying not to get cracked. Your goal is to escape the henhouse and other locations while doing precision platforming. This one is definitely up my alley, and I will for sure be on the lookout when it releases on November 6th this year.
Over the Hill
A cozy and calm game about traversing different beautiful landscapes with classic vehicles from the 60s to 80s.
TCG Card Shop Simulator
Do I really need to explain this one? I feel like the title says it all: a simulator where you run a card shop and collect cards. Simple, but effective.
Task Time
A wacky and enjoyable party game where eight players compete in six rounds of chaotic and unpredictable tasks. Task Time is made by some of the people who worked on Gang Beasts and Fall Guys, so you know what you're in for with this one.
Mouse: P.I. For Hire Deep Dive Documentary
To finish out the showcase, they showed a developer deep dive of Mouse P.I. For Hire, an exciting and extremely unique first-person shooter with a hand-crafted animation art style. If that at all interests you, I highly recommend you watch the deep dive and get a closer look at the fun and madness that awaits.
Wrapping things up/My Thoughts
Overall, I thought the showcase was a good mix of games that highlighted stuff we've seen before and some new experiences that I can't wait to play. Considering that this was more of an extra showcase since they usually do them during the summer, I think this was a well-rounded and fun show. Okay, now I've got some games to put on my wishlist. See you next time!
